About Choices for Change Counseling
I am a South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and a South Carolina Licensed Independent Practitioner with Medicaid. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology from USC-Upstate and my Masters Degree in Counseling from Webster University.
In 1995, I started working with the adolescent population and since that time, I have worked with clients of all ages in Individual, Family and Group Therapy in various settings as a Therapist and Clinical Director. I have extensive experience working with pre-teens(10-12), teenagers (13-18) and adults (19-30).
I work with Oppositional Defiant Behaviors, Grief/Loss, Anger/Mood related Issues. I am a Certified Trainer in Primary, Secondary, Tertiary Prevention of Sexually Abusive Behaviors in Childhood/Adolescents and in the Treatment of Sexually Abusive Youth. I am a member of the South Carolina Counselor Association and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
I hold the belief that individuals are capable of resolving their own issues with a professional, ethical and compassionate support and guidance. I do not engage in labeling people or judging their life choices. I practice Solution Focus Therapy building on those moments of success in a person's life.
